Hello,
I have owned an Allora-stamped B&S trumpet for quite some time now and have never really checked in-depth about its history. It has the "Made in Germany" engraved onto the bell, but other than the brand label, there is no other descriptor. The serial # on the leadpipe is 361868, while the # on the valve casing is 033978.
As far as I'm aware, the old WWBW company had B&S import the Challenger trumpets into the States during the 2000s and labeled them under the Allora brand. I am wondering if B&S has any info on these stenciled horns, because it seems that a lot of the older Allora trumpets are stencils of the Challenger I. The one I have, however, looks a lot more like the Challenger II, as the third valve slide has a screw stop instead of the usual Bach adjustable screw system. If possible, I would like to know if there is info regarding this particular model, including what bell it could be (like 37 or 43), and if it is actually a Challenger II model.
Pictures for reference.
Thanks!
