Weltklang Solist with Rundall Carte stamp
Hello,
I've acquired from an auction a Weltklang Solist alto sax, serial # 53559 in excellent condition and I've dated it to between 1981-82. I was directed to this site and if possible would like to find anyone on here with any info about this model and the significance of the stamp "Rundall Carte".
Please Reply in English
Thanks in Advance

Re: Weltklang Solist with Rundall Carte stamp
thanks intune, I already know the date manufactured and that it probably was supplied to the UK because of the Rundall Carte stamp and case plaque...some Rundall Carte engravings on some saxes and brass horns, that I've seen, look like they were done with a hammer and a nail, not like the bold stamp that mine has.
An short article stated that the stamp meant that the instrument was hand picked by the Rundall Carte suppliers for the Queen's symphony and other stately musicians in the UK.
I also found that this could possibly be an Amati stencil...very little information found about that.
I would like to know who actually manufactured it...Weltklang, B&S or whoever and what level sax is the Solist model.
I've read that this was a "step up" model as compared to earlier Weltklangs...(why? no remarks for this statement)
and that's as far as I got with the lineage.

Hello John E. Sax,
