VEB Alto Sax ???

Hello,

I have an unknown alto saxophone and an expert said it was from the VEB factory and referred me to this forum.
On the bell it says "Supérior" and the serial number is #45737 made in DGR.
Could anyone help me with the production date? Also any other information about this saxophone is more then welcome.

here now my answer on your question.


Your alto-sax " superior " was built in August 1977, according to the original books.
Model-number from the B & S - Manufacture was the 231 Kl.

I am hoping this thread is still active.
I have an unknown alto saxophone.
Online research hints that it could be from the VEB factory. On the bell it says "Sonata" and the serial number is # 67386 made in GDR. It was purchased in October of 1985 or 1986. Would it be possible to find out the year this stencil was made and anything about its model?

That is what is written on the bell. I am misinformed about it being a Stencil from VEB?
If so, any clue as to manufacturer?
It was, however, made in East Germany before the reunification and had made it's way to Canada circa 1985.
