Is there an L.P. Schuster Violin Maker? Do you think this is a genuine L.P. Schuster violin or there are copies of it? And what time did he started created violins? Thanks! There are no available luthiers here in our country that's why I searched and registered here to ask.

Re: L.P. Schuster
Hi kundarmah,
no, L.P. Schuster wasn't a violin maker, he was a dealer. Leander Paul Schuster was born 27.5.1854. He founded his company in 1878 here in Markneukirchen. The main business was dealing in wind instruments and strings. But, usual for this time, he dealt with all musical instruments. In 1926 his widow Mathilde was owner of the firm so he died before.
Sincerely
Udo

Is it allowed to ask where do you come from?kundarmah hat geschrieben:There are no available luthiers here in our country

Oh is that so? So he was a trader. Thank you very much for the info. I'm from Philippines and just bought this violin online.
Although there are violin makers here in our country, I don't think they do appraisals.
Thank you for the response.
