Hallo,

Entschuldigung, Ich spreche kein deutsch und schreibe diese frage in englisch.

Can someone help me identify the following violin?
Body length 36cm
Label is damaged, only the first letters are visible "Jo..." on the first line and "In Mitt..." on the second line. The label is probably fake/incorrect.
Some physical attributes of this violin indicate that this instrument was probably made in Markneukirchen, end 19th century.

Ideas, suggestions?

Yes, to me it looks like a built on back Saxonian/Bohemian violin, definitly not Mittenwald. I think it was made perhaps in the mid 1900's. Is the black button painted on or made of ebony? Haven't seen that often.
